12, 14, 16, & 18 East 62nd Street
Were built in the late 1800’s as single family mansions.  They were owned by the Astor family for many years and were donated to a major university for housing through the late 20th century.

A team, led by world renowned landmarks architect Joseph Pell Lombardi undertook the careful restoration of these wonderful residences.  Work began with surgical removal of the buildings original plumbing, wiring & heating systems.  Great care was taken to preserve architecturally significant rooms including mahogany herringbone floors, pure plaster relief moldings, ornate wood doors and stairs.

This team set out to restore the homes to the grandeur of the 1800’s, while carefully blending state of the art mechanicals for the 21st century.  Each town home has between 2 to 5 residences, marinating the private house feel of the homes.  The homes have a concierge – doorman 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Residents will have the ability to summon the doorman via a small key-sized signal device that will alert the doorman that a resident requires assistance.  The door person controls all entry doors and elevators from a central command station.  The door person will have a refrigerated storage for Fresh Direct, as well as storage for dry cleaning and deliveries.

All entry and elevator doors feature fully programmable computer fob keys.  A key for example can be programmed to open a door at a set day and time (for a housekeeper or dog walker), and at no other time.

The homes have Mitsubishi “split” Air Conditioning and heating systems.  These systems allow residents to have heat and or air conditioning 365 days per year.  As an example a resident can air condition the living room in January (for a party) and can heat a bedroom at the same time in the same residence.  Temperature -

can be controlled from a thermostat on the wall, via a wireless thermostat, with the concierge, or from the Internet.  This enables a resident to turn on the air conditioning upon landing at the airport, to insure the unit is cool upon arrival.

The homes have solid wood kitchens with marine wood boxes custom built by artisans for each residence.  Residents will find the apartments with Lauzon solid oak wood flooring in the living rooms and bedrooms.  Bathrooms and kitchens are fitted with Onxy, Thassos, Carerra marble and Afyon Sugar stone tile custom selected for each room.  Bath rooms feature Kohler overflow cast iron Jacuzzi tubs, and custom built tile showers.  Flat plane sub zero refrigerators and Wolf dual fuel ovens are a part of the appliance package for each residence.

Each home features fully functioning wood burning fireplaces.  Several residences have decks and balconies.

The safety and security of our residents is of the utmost importance.  In addition to a full time concierge/doorperson 24/7 that controls all doors and locks, each home has a private security system that can be connected to the central station provider of your choice, or the concierge.  Hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors compliment a full fire sprinkler system throughout the homes.  Over 60 digitial color cameras with computer DVR cover the entrances and common spaces of the homes.

The homes feature ceiling heights of up to 15 feet.  Many homes have balconies and patios.  Each home has generous closet spaces.  The larger homes have “his and hers” master baths, each with large closets.

Lease terms of up to three years are available.  Esquire Management Corporation is the exclusive leasing and managing agent for the homes.  Esquire has managed the property for over 15 years, and was the construction manager for the renovation.  Please contact Stephen Elbaz at 212.594.6500 or email esqmgmt@aol.com
